How To Remove Your Limitations With 6 Expert Tips

By Simone Milasas–

The only person powerful enough to stop you is—you. The way that you stop yourself from moving past something that is limiting you is when you stand in your own way.

The way you limit yourself is by buying into the lies that are often perpetrated onto us through society, education, religion and other structured institutions. Lies such as—I am a woman in a man’s world. I am too old; my time has passed. I have a family now and I must make that my priority and set my aspirations aside. I don’t have the right qualifications; others are much more qualified than me. Whatever the lies may be, you can always decide on something that will stop you from pursuing more.

What do you desire to create? For yourself. For your life. For your business. For the world. Are you creating that which you desire? If yes, are you creating it as much as you would like to? Or would you like it to be greater?

If you are not creating everything you would like to, then it is time to get rid of the limitations that are stopping you. Here are six tips to help you move past the confines:

  1.   Acknowledge what you have created

Most of us are very good at passing judgement on ourselves. Contrary to what many say, judging oneself doesn’t inspire you to create more. In fact, it attains the direct opposite—judging yourself limits and stops you. Rather than looking at what you have not created, acknowledge what you have. From that acknowledgment you will be empowered to do more, to create more, and with added measure—to be more.

  1.   Get clear on what you desire

Have you ever really asked yourself what it is you desire? Most of us look at the people around us when considering what we desire and value. We take stock of their lives, at what they are choosing, at what they say is valuable, and what they say we should want.

Stop looking at what others say you should desire and be honest with yourself. What is it that you would like? If you could have, do and be anything, what would you choose? Once you are clear on what you desire, set those things as your targets. When your targets are actually your targets, you are much more likely to reach them.

  1.   Ask questions and change anything

All of our lives we are taught to look for answers. It’s actually questions that create change. When you ask questions, you go beyond limitations and open the door to new possibilities. Ask, “What else is possible?” all the time! No matter what is going on ask questions. Ask for new possibilities. Ask what else is possible that you have not considered. Ask and watch what shows up.

  1.   Take action

Create is an action word. For things to show up, doing is required. What if you woke up every morning and asked, “If I were creating the life I desire, what would I choose?” And, “What action is required today to create the life I desire right away?”

When you ask these questions, don’t look for an answer. Instead, when you ask these questions, look for awareness. What is awareness? You know those times when you just know something? Some people call it intuition. Regardless of your name for it, it’s the place where you know something so strongly even if you don’t have all of the facts and information. Awareness is one of your greatest strengths.

When you ask questions such as “What action is required?” you will have a sense of something. Something will pop. An idea. A person to talk to. Whatever that is, do that.

  1.   Always ask for more

Many of us have been taught that asking for more means that we are not grateful and that asking for more is wrong. If you buy this point of view you will limit yourself dynamically. From the place of gratitude, always ask for more. Make your demands bigger, and don’t dilute your desire just because someone tells you should be satisfied with what you have. Reaching further and wanting more out of life (your life!) should never be something you have to excuse or apologize for.

  1.   Today is a good day to begin

Are there places in your life that you say, “When this happens, then I can do this…”? For example, “When I lose weight, then I can date.” Or, “When I get my college degree, then I can have the career I desire.”

When you leave your house, do you wait for all of the stop lights to turn green before you go?” No! You leave the house, you get in the car, you drive, and you navigate as you go.

Start to live your life this way. All of the lights may not be green but don’t let that keep you from starting.

When it comes to creating the life and business you desire, no one is more powerful than you. Choose to acknowledge the brilliance of you.

It is possible to create the things you desire one choice at a time. Today is the perfect time to start.
